Musicians from Mysuru to chair State Music Conference in Bengaluru

Vid. G.S. Ramanujan, senior percussion artiste and music scholar from Mysuru, is selected as the President of the Senior Musicians’ Conference and will be conferred with the title ‘Ganakalabhushana’ on the final day.
Vid. Dr. K.T. Udayakiran, another talented musician from the city, is selected to chair the Young Musicians’ Conference and he will be awarded ‘Ganakalashree’ title on the concluding day.
Karnataka Ganakala Parishat, a forum of musicians, is one of the prestigious Music Sabhas of the country and has been in the forefront in propagating the divine art of Karnatak Classical Music since 1969.

Vid. G.S. Ramanujan hails from a family of musicians and was under the tutelage of Vid. P.G. Lakshminarayana, who shaped him as an accomplished mridanga and ghata artiste. Ramanujan has accompanied almost all senior and leading artistes on both mridanga and ghata such as Semmangudi Srinivasa Iyer, M. Balamuralikrishna, R.K. Srikantan, T.N. Krishnan, Lalgudi G.
