Farm lands given to Waqf during BJP, JD(S) rule: CM
Bengaluru: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has sharply criticised the Opposition for its outcry regarding the transfer of farmlands to the Waqf Board, asserting that such transfers occurred during the tenures of former Chief Ministers B.S. Yediyurappa, Jagadish Shettar, and H.D. Kumaraswamy.
In a tweet on X (formerly Twitter), Siddaramaiah promised to release documents demonstrating that these land transfers took place under the leadership of these BJP and JD(S) leaders, suggesting that the opposition is engaging in double talk.
He warned that opposition leaders would face consequences for their actions and should be prepared for it.
In response to an invitation from State BJP President B.Y. Vijayendra for a public debate on the issue and other administrative matters, Siddaramaiah challenged Vijayendra to first address the concerns raised by rebel BJP leaders like Basanagouda Patil and Ramesh Jarkiholi about his leadership before engaging in a debate.
