Crime Prevention Month Rally in City
Mysuru: “Participation and cooperation of the public are essential for the prevention and detection of crimes,” said City Police Commissioner Seema Latkar.
She was speaking before flagging off the Crime Prevention Month rally in front of Kote Anjaneyaswamy Temple, North Gate of Mysore Palace, this morning.
Emphasising the need for immediate Police action in cases of assault on women, children and senior citizens, and sexual harassment, the City Police Commissioner urged the public to call the Emergency Response Support System (ERSS) at No. 112 during emergencies.
She advised the public to inform the Police about any unlawful activities, suspicious movements, or acts by strangers, which could harm the community. The co-operation of the public is crucial in preventing and detecting crimes.
City Police Chief Seema Latkar also advised house owners to maintain a watchful eye on tenants and report any suspicious persons or movements in their locality.
Highlighting the effectiveness of SC/ST Act, Senior Citizens Act, and Child Protection Act, she warned against anti-social elements and advised them to lead a law-abiding life.
